Up Down LED Wall Sconce

Light travelling in two directions at once changes how a wall looks. This sconce throws one beam up and another down from a compact white housing, leaving two soft triangles of light on the surface and a darker band between them. Used indoors it adds depth to a flat hallway wall; used outside it marks a doorway or a path without the glare of a floodlight.

The housing is white and the output is eight watts of warm white LED, in the two thousand seven hundred to three thousand five hundred kelvin range, so the light lands amber rather than blue. The body is described as waterproof, which makes it suitable for sheltered exterior positions such as a porch, a balcony wall or a covered entrance. Fixed light, fixed beams, nothing to adjust once it is up.

Indoors it works along a hallway, up a stairwell, beside a bed, or behind a sofa; outdoors it suits front doors, garden walls, garage sides and gateposts. Spacing matters more than quantity, so set them at even intervals and at a consistent height and the effect reads deliberate. The fitting is hardwired, so have the wall point in place first, and use a qualified electrician for anything outdoors.
